Gentle mellow pittie Jade in danger@NYC kill shelter for sale in Manhattan, New York

A volunteer writes: Jade wants to remain incognitoIs there really a dog in this kennel? Jade blends with her blanket. Indeed, this little grey mouse is very shy, even a little scared and she prefers the safety of her den rather than to venture into the care centers hallway. She is a good girl, though, accepts my leash and takes a walk around the block. Her kennel is clean ..She relieves herself immediately as we reached the street. Free in a pen, Jade is a bit hand shy and does not accept my treats. Realizing quickly that I am not that bad a person after all, beautiful Jade comes when I call her, sits by my side and even asks for roasted chicken. She spotted my stash of goodiesShe is a smart girl. Bolder, she aims for my lap and settles for caresses. What a pretty female she is! Jade is medium sized and wears a perfect silvery dress. She is elegant and seems to have been beautifully cared for. She was not a backyard dog but a pet who for some reason got out of luckShe is attracted to other dogs, checks them out but then, seems to think better and comes back to me. Jade is a gentle gal, very pretty, in mint condition, timid but quite loving. She would love to be someones forever best friend and start her life again with you. Jade is waiting at the Manhattan Care Center for your home.
Jade was adopted from a shelter about a month ago and she is currently 4 years old. Her owner could no longer keep her due to allergies. She lived in a home with 2 adults. During her time there, she has passed children while walking and owner stated she doesnt usually pay attention to them. She has been curious about the dogs she has passed while out for walks and she usually sniffs them. She has not bitten anyone or any other animals. She has been described as friendly, very mellow, and a great listener. Owner stated that she wasnt too interested in dry food, but that she loved the home cooked meals. She also seemed to enjoy rawhide treats. She appears to be house-trained and hasnt had any accidents. She was very sweet during the intake. She had a soft body and a wagging tail that was not up. She allowed petting and handling, and she showed no signs of aggression.
