Sweet loving 11mo old amstaff Lema in danger@NYC kill sheltr-abandoned for sale in Manhattan, New York

A volunteer writes: Part of the fabulous four as Ive dubbed them, Lema was found along with three other dogs that were left in an abandoned building. Like the others, Lema is far too skinny and is being fed an extra meal each day to put some meat on her pretty bones. Shes a tiny little girl, a pocket pittie, whos a bit shy at first meeting but gives kisses and never stops wagging her tail. Likely housetrained she goes potty as soon as were out the door, and wags her tail as we walk. Alert to her surroundings she wasnt thrilled being tethered for photos and even the treats that she takes gently werent a sufficient enough bribe to get her to focus. Lema settles on a park bench with me, puts her head in my lap for petting, closing her eyes and sighing with the contentment of it all. She stole my heart at that moment. She pulls towards other dogs (and birds) we pass in the park, and wags her tail at the other kenneled dogs once inside, so may simply need to learn better how do you do manners when outside. This little gray girl with the sweet and soft amber eyes stole my heart and is waiting to steal yours. Shes a puppy on the cusp of becoming an awesome adult. Will you help her get there?
Exam Type GROUP BEHAVIOR
When off leash with other dogs Lema is social and playful. She engages in brief bouts of bouncy play but is more interested in exploring her surroundings.
